Moms 2 Mommy has the Moms Who Persevere Scholarship at HFCC and I was invited for their Scholarship Celebration Breakfast. The President, of HFCC Russ Kavalhuna is a very dope and down to earth man, and he will certainly keep you laughing.

Hope 4 Single Moms located in Grand Rapids came out to support Mom 2 Mommy as a resource for the moms. Carla and Danielle are dedicated in supporting moms of the single mother community and I am grateful for the work they do in the community. Keep it up ladies.

Listening to the co-founder of Metro Detroit Midwives of Color Natalie Woods speak about the importance of putting your birth team together was very powerful. Every mom deserves the best care while giving birth and it's important to have a team of people who will listen to your needs.

Hearing Medical Director of Detroit Health Dept. and OBGYN Claudia Richardson speak on the effects Postpartum Depression has on women was powerful! Many women including myself who have experienced the symptoms of postpartum often feel unheard. Today the health specialist let us know not only are we heard but we are seen, and changes are happening.

It was a blessing to be on the panel at the M.O.M.S Tour to share my journey on the challenges I face while single parenting. Please make sure to listen at 4:47. I was able to speak about my blog Mom2Mommy and the issues I endured with my health. I enjoyed sitting alongside each mom that had a story to tell. May our voices be heard while making the change to improve the chances of a mother having a successful birth.
